At Lisneal we play in a wide variety of Cricket Competitions for all ages, from first year to sixth form. Lisneal traditionally do well in these competitions reaching the latter stages on a regular basis.
First year cricketers participate in the Under 12 Wesley Ferris cup, while 2nd year cricketers participate in the Under 13 Slemish Cup. Third year cricketers take part in both a league and cup, as do those in fourth year who participate in a North-west league and in the Ulster Bank Under 15 Schools’ Cup. While those in year 12-14 have the opportunity to take part in an Under 18 Competition called the Sherrygroom Trophy.
Cricket practice starts after Christmas every year in the schools’ excellent indoor nets facility, under the guidance of Mr Wilson and Mr Morrison. Teams are then selected in late April, ready in good time for what is always a successful time of year for Lisneal school sport.
