What we learn in Key Stage 3:
The content of the Religious Education syllabus is child-centred and based on the Revelation of God through the study of the Bible; the teachings of the Christian Church and the evaluation of Christian moral principles. In addition, at Key Stage 3, pupils are introduced to two world religions other than Christianity.

Delivery of the Religious Education Curriculum at Key Stage 3:
In this department, we aim to present the various teaching topics in a fresh and challenging way, allowing pupils the opportunity to examine and reflect on their own attitudes and ultimately encourage them to respect the religious beliefs, values, practices and lifestyles of others. All pupils are encouraged to think for themselves and we endeavour to create expressive and dynamic students who develop to their full potential and can express themselves through new ideas and experiences.
Religious Studies at GCSE:
The Key Stage 3 curriculum fully prepares all pupils to study Religious Education at Key Stage 4. We offer the NI CCEA RS GCSE. Pupils will cover Christianity through a study of the Gospel of Matthew and an introduction to Christian Ethics.
Religious Studies AS/A2 Level:
Pupils will have the opportunity to choose GCSE and AS/A2 Level Religious Studies at Lisneal College.
We offer the CCEA RS AS/A2 course. Pupils have the opportunity to study:
• Module 1 – The Gospel of Luke
• Module 4 – The Christian Church in the Roman Empire to A.D. 325.

Scripture Union:
Along with staff from other departments, the staff of the Religious Education organise Scripture Union. This is a very popular society within the school as evidenced by the numbers who attend and the enthusiasm displayed as they enjoy fellowship through the many and varied activities on offer.
