PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The P.E. Department aims to ensure that pupils develop and apply their knowledge, skills and understanding of physical education through participation in selected physical activities not just in a school setting but in their leisure time for their own enjoyment and well-being.

Physical Education offers a broad and balanced curriculum with opportunities for pupils to use the extensive outdoor and indoor facilities within the school to develop their abilities and interests through games such as hockey, netball, rugby, cricket, tennis and football as well as gymnastics, swimming, athletics and dance. These are taught by specialist teachers with the support of coaches who visit the school to further develop the skills of individuals and groups of pupils.

There is regular involvement in District and Regional competitions with other schools and organisations and pupils are encouraged to go forward for representative honours.

Within school there is regular involvement in competitions and pupils can earn awards to recognise the quality of their performance.

WHAT FACILITIES DO WE HAVE FOR PE?
All our sports facilities are state of the art and include:
  • High standard changing facilities
  • Large multi-purpose sports hall
  • Gymnasium
  • Fitness suite
  • 4 grass pitches
  • 1 Astroturf with floodlighting
