GCSE - Learning for Life and Work
This relatively new GCSE course is offered to all students in years 11 and 12. The world in which our students are growing up is very different from the world 20-30 years ago. The aim of this subject is to equip students with the information and skills for the world of work, and life after school.
It is an enjoyable subject that covers many issues faced by young people today. These include citizenship, skills for the workplace, CVs and personal, health and social issues to name but a few.
The subject is delivered over 2 years and is assessed by an external examination and elements of coursework.
At the end of the course students attain a GCSE in Learning for life and work that may be used by those entering employment or by those who wish to continue their studies in education.
