Years 8-10 Geography

Everyone at Lisneal College gets the chance to study geography each year. Students will learn about current issues such as global warming, recycling, what Europe does for us, volcanoes, why it’s ‘always’ raining here, other countries, tourism and so on.

Fieldtrips are an important way in which to look at all these issues and classes will take part in 3 trips. Previous trips have been to the Tayto factory, the beach, Loughs Agency, Roe Valley Country Park, Gortin Glen Forest Park to name but a few.

Geography can be studied at GCSE level where the above issues are developed further with fieldwork accounting for 25% of the course.
